She started to work here this year after Dr. Jones retired, but it isn’t the first time she has been to this school. Mrs. Wilson came to HAMS as a student when she was in middle school. She graduated from Reynoldsburg High School. For her college years, she graduated from Northern Illinois University. Mrs. Wilson won many athletic awards in college, like Scholar athlete, MVP in basketball, State awards for more sports like basketball and volleyball.
Mrs. Wilson worked at Waggoner Rd. Jr. High before she came to work at HAMS. Mrs. Wilson personally loves HAMS. What she loves most about HAMS is the positive attitude of the staff, students, and parents. She would love to increase the school day to offer more opportunities for students. She plans to be a part of the solution at HAMS and to help students achieve any of their goals academically or any goals, period, to make HAMS a better school.
What motivates Mrs. Wilson to be great at what she does is working every day trying to be better than yesterday. She also loves that every morning is like a fresh start. Mrs. Wilson was about a senior in high school when she knew she wanted to work with children. Her mother was the one who inspired her to succeed in her career. Her mother was a former Principal at Columbus City Schools. When she was real young, she did not want to pursue the career she has now. Mrs. Wilson wanted to be a dentist because she was fascinated with the tools, lights, and basically everything they used at the dentist’s office. She strongly dislikes the dentist now, even though she still goes to the same dentist, because she was introduced to cavities. So her message to you all is ‘’Brush Your Teeth’’. I asked Mrs. Wilson if she could pick any other job in the world what would she do? Her response was that she couldn’t think of any other job she would like to do other than working with children. If she absolutely had to pick, it would be working for a non-profit organization that helps kids in any way possible.
Mrs. Wilson is an amazing person and I know for a fact that with her working at HAMS, she is going to make HAMS a fantastic place for students, staff, and parents. I could not think of anyone better to be our new Assistant Principal. I got to sit down and actually learn some cool things about Mrs. Wilson for this article, and I can tell that she really wants to make a difference at HAMS and she is very dedicated to make this a better place.
