Supports in Our Schools
Did you know each of the 11 employs a full time School Social Worker? School counselor? BOTH? The role of these staff is to support students and families with identifying barriers to educational success, accessing community resources, skill development, and more. A list of the support staff for each building can be found HERE.

Building partnerships are present in most of our schools as well. If your child(ren)’s building does not have a partner, the School Counselor or Social Worker can assist you with identifying other resources in the community.

Weekend Food Program
RCS partners with Children’s Hunger Alliance to provide shelf-stable weekend meal boxes. Each box contains two breakfast pouches and three lunch/dinner options that meet USDA nutrition guidelines.

Students who are receiving free/reduced lunch are eligible to receive weekend boxes. Parents/guardians can sign their child up using this form.  This program is available in all K-12 buildings. Questions and requests for assistance with resources should be directed to your building support staff or Ashley Pittman.

Caring Closets
Caring Closets offer basic hygiene supplies like soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene products, hair brushes, tooth brushes, toothpaste, lotion, etc. The goal of these closets is to ensure all students have access to resources that promote health and wellness. These resources are free of charge to students in need and are available in all 11 buildings across RCS.

Winter Weather Essentials
While the warmer weather we have right now is a welcomed break from the negative wind chills and blustery cold; we know that another bout of chilly temperatures is not out of the question.

Thanks to Bonzy, Operation Warm, local organizations, and community partners, RCS has brand new winter coats, hats, and a limited number of gloves available for students in sizes ranging from small child to adult.

Mental Health Services
Ensuring students have access to appropriate mental healthcare is just as important as physical healthcare. RCS partners with community organizations and agencies to provide school-based mental health services in several buildings. For those buildings without school-based supports at this time, there are several community agencies and organizations available for linkage and referral.

If your child needs mental health services and you need assistance with referral and linkage, please reach out! Contact information can be found linked at the top of this page.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call 988 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Questions and requests for assistance with resources should be directed to your building support staff or Ashley Pittman.
