Savvy Students Get Credits, Save Cash for College

Maya Warren initially took college classes for the challenge.

But the senior at Reynoldsburg High School’s BELL Academy later realized just how much 24 credits from Columbus State Community College could save her in tuition costs — more than $9,000 at the University of Cincinnati, where she plans to study architecture this fall.

"When we started, we weren't sure how much Columbus State would help us moneywise," Warren said. "As senior year stared going and I started to look at the different prices of college, I realized how the tinniest of credit hours could help me."

AT BELL Academy, 17 other students are graduating this year with college credits, potentially saving nearly $400,000 in tuition.
