Illness

Should my child stay home?
Every day matters at school. Together we can maximize the time all children are healthy and ready to learn by taking a few steps to prevent the spread of cold and flu. Children who exhibit the following symptoms should stay home from school:

  • A fever of 100 degrees or higher
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Any symptoms that prevent him/her from participating in school activities, such as: excessive tiredness or lack of appetite; productive coughing or sneezing; headache, body aches, earache or sore throat.
Please keep your child at home until fever, vomiting, diarrhea is gone for at least 24 hours WITHOUT medication.
Stay Healthy
Cover your mouth
Use a tissue when you sneeze or cough. Or cough into your elbow or shoulder.

Wash your hands
Sing the Happy Birthday song to make sure you wash long enough. Alcohol-based sanitizers are effective, too.

Avoid touching...
your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
